USED Talcott on the Potomac River in May 1939. Talcott moving dredged material from the Potomac River
bottom though pipes to the fill area behind a dike built by the Corps. 500 of the Washington National Airport's 729 acres were landfill for which the Corps Engineers
moved twenty million yards of material.
