  • Launched, 2 December 1944
  • Commissioned USS Bullock (AK-165), 2 March 1945, LT. Henry N. Barkhausen USNR in command
  • During World War II USS Bullock was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Decommissioned, 13 March 1946, at Baltimore, MD.
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 28 March 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission 19 March 1946, for disposal, at the National Defense Reserve Flee, James River Group, Lee Hall, VA.
  • Merchant Service
    Sold to the Republic of Turkey for $693,862.00, in January 1947, passed to Deniz Nakliyati T.A.O., Turkey, reflagged Turkish and renamed SS Edirne, removed to agent Dichman Wright and Pugh, 20 January 1947
    renamed SS Adana in 1948, Turkish flag retained, renamed again in 1948, SS Malatya, Turkish flag retained
    SS Malatya with her sister ships SS Kars [ex-USS Antrim (AK-159)], SS Kastamonu [ex-USS Craighead (AK-175]. and SS Rize [ex-USS Hidalgo (AK-189) provided regular service between Turkey and Northern Europe for approximately 15 years
