Arundel served the Revenue Cutter Service, the Marine Hospital Service, the U. S. Navy and the Coast Guard

Revenue Cutter:

  • Built in 1873 by Charles A. Weidner, Chester, PA
  • Commissioned USRC Manhattan in late May 1873 at New York
  • Laid up 30 November 1875 at Ogdensburg, NY
  • Recommissioned in mid-May 1876 at Oswego, NY
  • Decommissioned 30 November 1876
  • Recommissioned in the summer of 1883
  • Decommissioned 31 December 1883 at Baltimore, MD
  • Loaned to the Marine Hospital Service in July 1885 for use as a quarantine boat at the Virginia Capes
  • Returned to the Revenue Marine Service in November 1885
  • Recommissioned 29 April 1886 at Baltimore
  • Acquired by the Navy 6 April 1917
  • Renamed USCGC Arundel 1 April 1918
  • Returned to the Coast Guard 28 August 1919
  • Designated CG-30
  • Sold 28 April 1928 to George Johnson of Baltimore
  • Registered in 1933 to the National Motorship Corp. of New York, NY as the towboat Express
  • Fate unknown.
