YMS-75 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union

YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Built by Weaver Brothers Shipyards, Orange, TX
  • Laid down, 22 July 1941
  • Launched, 26 May 1942
  • Completed, 22 February 1943
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union as T-590, 19 July 1945
  • Assigned to the Northern Pacific Fleet, 30 July 1945
  • Participated in the Yuzhno-Sakhalin, Japan offensive, 11 - 25 August 1945
  • Placed out of service and laid up, 01 September 1955
  • Struck from the Soviet Navy list, 25 June 1956
  • Sunk in the Tartar Strait in agreement with the United States between 28 - 30 June 1956
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 29 October 1956.

  • Beam 24' 6"
  • Draft 8'
  • Speed 15 knots
  • Complement 32
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, two 20mm mounts, and two depth charge projectors
