  • During World War II LCT-1028 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater LCT Flotilla 16 (LCDR Lewis, in command), Group 48 (LT. Robert T. Capeless, in command) at Iwo Jima and Flotilla 29 Group 85 in the Marianas Islands from July 1945 and participated in the following campaign:
