  • Laid down In October 1942, at Derby Products of Steel Plate Corp., Kansas City, KS.
  • Launched in October 1942
  • Delivered and transferred to the United Kingdom, 2 November 1942, under the Lend-Lease program for Mediterranean Theater service, redesignated LCT-2303
  • Armor plating added in early 1944 in the United Kingdom prior to the Normandy Invasion, redesignated LCT(A)-2303
  • During World War II LCT(A)-2303 was assigned to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater and participated in the following campaign:

  • For the Invasion of Normandy LCT(A)-2303 was assigned to the 104th LCT Flotilla of ‘O’ LCT Squadron out of Brixham....the craft was intended for TARE and UNCLE sectors of UTAH beach
  • Placed out of service, date unknown
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 13 December 1946
  • LCT(A)-2302 earned one battle star for World War II service
  • Final Disposition, scrapped, circa 1947, broken up at Poole England
