CDR. J. Adam Peeples, USN
CDR J. Adam Peeples is a native of Jacksonville, Florida and the proud son of two retired enlisted Navy parents. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with a Bachelor of the
Arts degree in English. He earned his commission through Officer Candidate School in 2008. In 2010, Adam earned his wings of gold flying the MH-53E Sea Dragon. In 2011, he re-designated
as a Surface Warfare Officer where he was assigned to the USS PORTER (DDG 78) as a Division Officer supporting Operations and Engineering departments.
In his Department Head tours, he served as First Lieutenant onboard the USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47), as well as First Lieutenant onboard the USS BATAAN (LHD 5). In 2020, Adam became a
distinguished graduate of the US Naval War College (USNWC) earning an in-residence Master of the Arts degree in National Defense and Strategy with a specific focus on Russian maritime
strategy as part of the HOLLOWAY Advanced Research Project. Following his time at the USNWC, he was selected to attend the Amphibious Warfare Tactics Instructor (AMW WTI) course at the
Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center in Little Creek, VA. As a patched AMW WTI, Adam took over as N5 responsible for amphibious doctrine and techniques, tactics, and procedures
(TTP). Most recently, he completed his tour as Executive Officer onboard the USS ARLINGTON (LPD 24) and as the Deputy N86 at US Fleet Forces.
He is slated to take command of USS ASHLAND
(LSD 48) in June of 2025.
His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
(two awards), and various unit and campaign medals
