Captured by Lexington off the Delaware capes, 7 April 1776

Edward a tender to the British frigate HMS Liverpool was condemned at Philadelphia by the prize court

Purchased by the Marine Committee of the Continental Congress, 2 May. Renamed Sachem

Shortly before Sachem was ready for action, CAPT. Isaiah Robinson assumed command

Sachem departed Philadelphia, 6 July 1776 and captured British letter of marque Three Friends, 12 August

Placed under the direction of the Secret Committee of the Continental Congress few details of her operations survived

Sachem was reportedly burned in the Delaware River the following autumn to avoid capture by the British, but evidence to substantiate this claim is scanty
