  • Laid down, date unknown, at Larrabee & Allen, Bath ME.
  • Launched, 20 March 1863
  • Placed in full commission as, USS Iosco, 26 April 1864, at Boston Navy Yard, CDR. Andrew J. Drake, in command
  • During the Civil War USS Iosco was assigned to:
    Gulf of St Lawrence, 28 August 1864, to protect American Fishing vessels
    Ordered to join the 1st Division of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron at Hampton Roads, 2 October 1864
    Captured British Schooner Sybil, 21 November 1864
    Participated in the first and second attacks on Fort Fisher, N.C., 24 December 1864 and 13 January 1865
  • Decommissioned, 28 July 1865, at New York Navy Yard
  • Converted to a coal hulk for New York Navy Yard in February 1868.
