  • Launched, date unknown
  • Delivered for commercial service in June1980
  • Acquired by the US Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC), date unknown
  • Converted to a Shughart Class Large Medium Speed Roll on/Roll off ship at National Steel and Shipbuilding Co., San Diego, CA.
  • Delivered and assigned to MSC as USNS Yano (T-AKR-297), 8 February 1997
  • USNS Yano (T-AKR-297) is one of the Navy's 28 Strategic Sealift Ships operated by MSC
  • USNS Yano is assigned to the MSC Atlantic surge force and is maintained in Readiness Operational Status 4 (ROS-4) in a lay berth at Newport News, VA.
  • Towed from Newport News to Beaumont TX. in April 2022 for lay up in the Maritime Administration National Defense Trsfy Reserve Force, Beaumont.
