  • Commissioned USS Chicot (AK-170), 4 April 1945, LCDR. Lawrence F. Marshall, USNR, in command
  • During World War II USS Chicot was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Following World War II and during the Korean War USS Chicot performed Occupation duty in the Far East for the following periods;

    Chicot 186k USS Chicot (AK-170) loads 12 turkeys at Pearl Harbor, prior to departing for Wailuku, Maui, to pick up 144 head of cattle, 1 February 1949. "This is the first step in the Naval government's long range plan to revitalize the island's livestock." Probably refers to Saipan or Guam.
