Captain Joseph E. Feaster, USN
Commanding Officer
Captain Joseph Eugene Feaster, U.S. Navy, was born in Bath, South Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Georgia Teachers College in 1943 and entered the U.S. Naval Midshipman School, Columbia University, New York, New York.

He was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve on October 20, 1943, and his duty assignment was as Officer-in-Charge of LCT-1174. In this capacity, he participated in the Normandy Landing at Utah Beachhead in June 1944. Following World War II, he transferred to the Regular Navy and attended Gunnery Officer Ordnance School, Washington, D.C.; General Line School, Newport, Rhode Island; U.S. Naval Post Graduate School (Applied Communications), Annapolis, Maryland; and the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island.

He has served as Communications Officer, USS NEWPORT NEWS (CA-48); Staff Communications Officer, COMCRUDIV 1; Executive Officer, USS DASHIELL (DD-659); Force Communications Officer, Staff, COMMINLANT; Commanding Officer, USS MILLS (DER-383); Operations Officer, USS PROVIDENCE (CLG-6); Commanding Officer, USS FRANK E. EVANS (DD-754); The Office of Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.; Commanding Officer, USS PIEDMONT (AD-17); and most recently, Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Communications Station, Mogoso
