  • Commissioned USS Spray (ID 2491), 1 June 1918
  • Decommissioned 4 March 1919 returned to the Russian Government and sold
  • Registered in 1931 to the O'Hara Brothers Co. of Boston as the Cod fishing boat Patrick J. O'Hara
  • Fate unknown.

    Foam 79k Tied up together, probably prior to their World War I Navy service. These trawlers, previously owned by the Bay State Fishing Company, of Boston, were chartered by the Navy from representatives of the Russian Government in May 1918 and later commissioned as USS Foam (ID 2496), USS Ripple (ID 2439) and USS Spray (ID 2491)

    Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships History: Spray, a steam trawler built in 1905 by the Fore River Shipbuilding Co. at Quincy, Mass., was chartered from the Russian government in 1918. Taken over by the Commandant of the 3d Naval District on 29 May 1918, she served in the district until 4 March 1919 at which time she was returned to the Russians.
