YP-214 served both the U. S. Navy and the State of New Jersey

Patrol Yacht:

  • Built in 1909 as Alfredine IV by the Gas Engine and Power Co. and Charles L. Seabury Co., Morris Heights, NY for Ralph E. Slaven of New York
  • Acquired by John Henry Hanan of New York and renamed Edithia
  • Acquired by the Navy 25 May 1917
  • Commissioned USS Edithia (SP 214), 23 August 1917
  • Reclassified as a District Patrol Craft, YP-214, 17 July 1920
  • Decommissioned 13 December 1921 at the New York Navy Yard
  • Loaned to the State of New Jersey in July 1922 for the use of the State Board of Commerce and Navigation
  • Returned to U.S. Navy custody in 1932
  • Struck from the Navy Register 19 July 1933
  • Sold 3 October 1933
  • Fate unknown.
