Carson City served the Navies of the United States, the Union of Socialist Republic's and Japan
Tacoma Class Patrol Frigate:

  • (MC Type T. S2-S2-AQ1) Originally authorized as a Patrol Gunboat, PG-158
  • Reclassified as a Patrol Frigate, PF-50, 15 April 1943
  • Laid down 28 September 1943 under a Maritime Commission contract at Consolidated Steel Corp, Ltd., Wilmington, CA
  • Launched 13 November 1943
  • Commissioned USS Carson City (PF-50), 24 March 1944
  • Decommissioned 29 August 1945 at Cold Harbor, Alaska
  • Transferred under the Lend-Lease Program 30 August 1945 to the Soviet Union and reclassified EK-20
  • Assigned to the Pacific Fleet 5 September 1945
  • Returned to U.S. custody 31 October 1949 at Yokosuka, Japan
  • Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet at Yokosuka
  • Transferred on loan to the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force 30 April 1953 and renamed Sakura (PF 290)
  • Reclassified as an Auxiliary Stock Craft, YAC-16, 31 March 1966
  • Decommissioned 31 March 1971
  • Returned to U.S. custody 6 August 1971
  • Fate unknown.
