Admirable Class Minesweeper:

  • Originally planned as Astute (AMc 125)
  • Reclassified AM-148, 21 February 1942
  • Laid down 7 December 1942 by the Tampa Shipbuilding Co. Inc., Tampa, FL
  • Launched 23 February 1943
  • Commissioned USS Astute (AM 148), 17 January 1944
  • Decommissioned 18 July 1945 at Cold Bay, AK; transferred to the Soviet Union and reclassified T-333
  • Assigned to the Pacific Fleet
  • Reclassified as a Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull), MSF-148, 7 February 1955
  • Reclassified as a Dispatch Ship
  • Named Kurchum 1 September 1955
  • Reclassified as a Receiving Ship, BRN-9
  • Scrapped 18 January 1960
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 January 1983.
