  • USS Cable earned the Navy Unit Commendation for service in Salvage, Fire Fighting, and Rescue Unit, Service Force, 7th Fleet - Philippine Islands area, 20 October 1944 to 10 January 1945 and three battle stars for World War II service
  • Final Disposition, sunk as a target, 7 August 1978, by USS Valdez (FF-1096)
