  • Acquired by the Navy and commissioned as Transport and Aircraft Ferry, USS Hammondsport (APV-2), 11 December 1941, CDR. Paul R. Glutting in command
  • Designation changed to Aircraft Transport (AKV-2), 15 September 1943
  • During World War II USS Hammondsport was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Decommissioned, 7 March 1946, at Philadelphia, PA.
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 12 April 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal
  • Returned to Seatrain Lines, 10 May 1946, name reverted to SS Seatrain Havana
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 13 March 1973, to Hua Eng Copper and Iron Industrial Co. Ltd., Taiwan
