| 42k | Overhead stern view of the USS Jeffers (DD-621). A member of the Gleaves class of destroyers, she is seen in January, 1943. The Gleaves/ Benson class ships were essentially identical, distinguishable only by the shape of their stacks— the Gleaves class had round stacks, the Benson class having flat-sided stacks.
